Comment on HELEN HUNT JACKSON – SEPTEMBER POEM by Martha.

I learned this poem from my mom when I was a little girl! Also “October’s Bright Blue Weather.” I cannot go hiking and see an aster without hearing my mom and this poem. I cannot look at the sky in October without hearing her. She was a strange and unhappy woman, but within the compass of the poetry she knew, loved, and shared, was, I believe, her true self sharing the beauty of the world and words with me.
