I know that he never married, was a Bishop and pastor at Trinty Church in Boston and he wrote the lyrics to the song. My interest is in that it has been "rumored" that I am related to him thru my Grandmother's side of the family. Her maiden name was Harris, her mother's maiden name was Brooks; the relationship to Phillips Brooks would have been a brother or uncle of some sort. Please furnish any information or references.
